Ami grew up in a military family, and has called Oklahoma, Illinois, Hawaii, and Nebraska “home,” but of these Illinois is the one she still considers “Home.” When she was ten she realized during the Easter cantata at church that Jesus died for her…for her sins. Beginning in High School Ami taught 2 year old Sunday school, and everyone who knew her saw her love for children. When she had just graduated high school (1996) she went to Falls Creek Camp in Oklahoma with her cousins, and that week she felt called to Children’s Ministry, and surrendered into full time Christian service. A few years later (1998) Ami transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University and got a Bachelor of Arts in Child Care Administration and then enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she graduated in 2005 with her Master of Arts in Christian Education with a Children’s emphasis. She has served as an intern in children’s ministry in Illinois and Texas and has served as Children’s Minister at MBC since 2007! In Ami’s free time she loves going to the movies, playing games, and rooting on the STL Cardinals!
